Anchored by home-grown enterprises and MNC partners, we offer comprehensive nose-to-tail services, including MRO for all major engine platforms across GE Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney, Rolls-Royce and CFM International. Our excellent connectivity and infrastructure also make us a world-class base for aerospace firms’ regional distribution centres.
Singapore is also a trusted location for manufacturing of mission-critical components like engine components and avionics. Our strengths in MRO, precision engineering and electronics enable MNCs here to manufacture some of the most complex components like avionics computers and engine fan blades, supported by our strong intellectual property regime. We also promote public-private partnerships such as the Rolls-Royce-Singapore Aero Engine Services-A*STAR’s Smart Manufacturing Joint Lab, which has worked with more than 200 SMEs to develop and deploy new technologies in the companies’ fan blade manufacturing and MRO facilities in Singapore.
Singapore has built and/or launched more than 30 small satellites since 2011, and ongoing partnerships with companies and research institutions aim to further develop our small satellite capabilities and create new space applications and services. The Office for Space Technology & Industry (OSTIn) spearheads our efforts to foster a vibrant space industry where companies can capture opportunities arising from new space trends.
Our talented workforce is well-trained in hands-on learning environments at our Institutes of Higher Learning, which features real aircraft, hangar, as well as support equipment like flight and maintenance simulators. In the satellite industry, over 1,000 professionals work on activities across the value chain, from space hardware design and development, to sales and marketing, provision of satellite-based services, and supply chain management.
