Singapore is a leading Oil & Gas (O&G) Equipment and Services hub in Asia, and hosts over 3,000 established Marine and Offshore Engineering (M&OE) firms. Our world-class capabilities and excellent connectivity continue to attract more industry players here to tap into Asia’s strong growth potential.

Rich ecosystem

Our strengths in design, engineering, manufacturing and innovation have attracted the world’s largest O&G Equipment/Services firms to set up their bases here. These include Baker Hughes, Halliburton, National Oilwell Varco, Schlumberger and TechnipFMC, which have entrusted Singapore with regional or global responsibilities for key product lines like completion tools and artificial lift. Top component and services suppliers like Energy Alloys and OMS are also based here.

Cutting-edge R&D

The Technology Centre for Offshore and Marine Singapore (TCOMS) is Singapore’s first national R&D centre for the sector, as well as the broader M&OE industry. Launched in October 2016, TCOMS drives public-private partnerships to develop cutting-edge solutions for the industry. In parallel, A*STAR continues to work with O&G Equipment/Services firms and institutes to tackle challenges such as drilling under extreme deep-sea conditions.

World-class hub for activities across the O&G value chain

Despite having no O&G resources of our own, Singapore is Asia’s top petrochemicals hub and one of the world’s top 3 export refining centres. As a premier financial and supply-chain hub with world-class logistics infrastructure, we fully support the business and HQ functions of O&G firms based here. We continue to enhance our infrastructure, such as building a LNG terminal, with a second one being considered.
